SAfety Film OPtions
Clear Safety Film - Transparent and virtually invisible, this film reinforces glass against impact without altering its appearance. Ideal for storefronts, schools, and homes where aesthetics matter.
Neutral Safety Film - Offers subtle shading with minimal color distortion. It reduces glare and heat while maintaining a natural look—great for environments needing light control without a mirrored finish.
Reflective Safety Film - Features a mirrored exterior that enhances daytime privacy and significantly reduces solar heat gain. Commonly used in commercial buildings for energy efficiency and security.
Dual Reflective Safety Film - Reflective on the outside, less so on the inside. This balances privacy and visibility—tenants can see out clearly at night while outsiders see a mirrored surface. Excellent for residential use.
Wet Glazing Attachments
Structural sealant is a critical component in high-performance safety and security film systems. It’s used to anchor the filmed glass to the window frame, creating a unified system that resists impact, blast pressure, and forced entry.
Examples of Industry leading Structural Sealant:
Dow Corning 995 / 889 High-performance silicone sealants designed for structural glazing. 995 offers excellent adhesion and flexibility, commonly used in high-security applications. 889 is a faster-curing variant with similar strength.
3M Impact Protection Adhesive (IPA) A proprietary wet glaze system designed to work with 3M Safety Films. It bonds the filmed glass to the frame, improving blast and intrusion resistance while maintaining a clean finish.
Madico Anchoring System Madico’s version includes a structural sealant compatible with their safety films. It’s engineered to meet GSA and DoD standards for blast mitigation, offering a secure and tested solution.
Tape-Integrated
Attachment Systems
How it Works:
After The Safety film is installed onto the window panel a high-bond tape is applied to both the frame and the film. Some profiles include an integrated gasket to sit within the framing itself.
The framing in combination with the attachment helps distribute the load of force applied to the window.
Performance Characteristics:
Provides a hybrid of adhesive anchoring + mechanical load distribution. This is especially useful in existing builds that need to be retrofitted for security purposes at a fraction of the cost of new security glazing.
